How to Make Your #GivingTuesday Programming More Impactful

#GivingTuesday is coming up! For many nonprofits, it’s the biggest day of the year to receive donations, and for workplace giving programs, it’s a momentous day for employee giving and matching. 


We outlined a few ideas to maximize your giving program’s impact ahead of #GivingTuesday. 


Matching Rules: Two is always better than one! Create a special #GivingTuesday matching rule to bolster donations from employees. 


Fundraisers: Create a #GivingTuesday fundraiser for employees. By establishing a fundraiser, you can make it easy for employees to donate. Plus, you can share your fundraiser’s progress companywide and boost enthusiasm for giving this season. 


Seed Donation Credits: Empower your employees to give by offering exclusive donation credits through #GivingTuesday. You can elect to limit credit donations to your company’s nonprofit partners, specific causes or encourage ERGs to choose organizations. #GivingTuesday is a great day to make sure all donation credits are used before the end of the year!


Fundraising Competitions: Kick off a friendly fundraising competition at your company. Whether it's between teams, regions, or departments, everyone can choose a nonprofit to support and fundraise leading up to #GivingTuesday. The group with the most participation wins!  


Recurring Donations & Payroll Giving: Encourage employees to set up a recurring donation or payroll giving in celebration of #GivingTuesday so they can give all year long.
